Cymaclymenia evoluta

Sugerowana cytacja: Dzik, J. 2015. Cymaclymenia evoluta (Schmidt, 1924)?  . Ikonoteka (http://ikonoteka.paleo.pan.pl/xwiki/bin/viewrev/Species/Cymaclymenia+evoluta+)

Diagnoza

Relatively evolute conch.

Porównanie

The single specimen MB.C. 4083.2 labeled Cymaclymenia cordata may belong to this species, as suggested by the evolute conch. It comes from a light yellowish-pink limestone occurring near the top of the Dzikowiec succession. Two more specimens derived from a similar rock (MB.C. 4083.1 and 4180) differ in a somewhat narrower umbo. All are compressed and have a rather rounded whorl cross section. Possibly a lineage of Cymaclymenia independent of C. silesiaca (occuring in dark purple limestone) is represented at Dzikowiec, but stratigraphic evidence is too poor to prove this.

The species was originally classified in the separate genus Postclymenia.
