Opis

Apparatus composed of elements of approximately uniform size with smooth gradation of shapes, forming a single symmetry transition series (M elements in advanced forms may be somewhat separate morphologically). Symmetrical elements, if present, of very generalized morphology.

The family differs from the Belodellidae and Panderodontidae in the lack of any prominent size gradient in the apparatus, and from the Protopanderodontidae in having only a single symmetry transition series in the apparatus and in the possible lack of unpaired S0 element.
