	1	+The shell is highly conical, its apex is a little blunt. The coils flanks are almost straight, the seams accentuated by a very narrow heel. There is no sculpture. The barely convex, imperforate base is set off on a rounded edge. It is as well without sculpture, only opisthocyrt growth lines can be seen. The aperture lumen is almost round. The columella is widened and deepened in a crescent shape. //Trochus ibbetsoni// Morris & Lycett, 1851, to which Laube (1867) assigned this species, is larger, the flanks are slightly concave and the transition from flank to base forms a clear edge. //Proconulus ibbetsoni// (Morris & Lycett, 1851) sensu Szabó (1983) is represented only by two coils. The transition from the flank to the base is more strongly edged, the last turn has a spiral sculpture.
