Diagnoza

Deliella with small shell (not exceeding 7 mm) and ornamentation distinctly parvicostellate, not reflecting that of the host.

Porównanie

Philhedra mosellana Dahmer, 1931has much more irregular outline (with incisions) and higher shell; also similar Crania crenistriata Hall, 1860 is usually two to three times bigger; Philhedra umbrella Kozłowski, 1929 has much thicker and more densely spaced costae; Philhedra interstrialis Dahmer, 1932 is much larger and its outline is more elongate.

Autekologia

Specimens are attached but not embedded in the host's shells of Douvillina interstrialis (Phillips, 1841), on the geniculated part of the dorsal Leptaena analogaeformis Biernat, 1966 shell, probably protruding out of the mud (associated with two specimens of Acanthocrania sp.), Schizophoria schnuri Struve, 1965, Aulacella eifliensis (De Verneuil, 1841) and Kyrtatrypa sp. Probably they were fixed on living brachiopods, being their commensals rather than just a hard substrate in a muddy environment.
