Diagnoza Vertebral articula and wings are triangle-shaped. Spines with straight edges.
Porównanie The articulation surface between the halves of the second ambulacral plate has a fine ornamentation, strengthening the connection. Neither the comparable morphologies, nor the distinct oral muscular fossa on the proximal articular surface have been observed in Furcaster aequoreus Boczarowski, 2001. Moreover, F. cataphractus Boczarowski, 2001 differs from F. aequoreus Boczarowski, 2001 in having a small convexity at the aboral surface of the mouth angle plate, a triangular wings to the distal surface and an aboral groove open on one of the sides of arm vertebra. Lateral plates are covered with crescent−shaped depressions. The most significant differences are in the morphology of spines, F. cataphractus Boczarowski, 2001 having characteristic braided texture and lacking thorns. Other species differ in details of the structure of all its elements, particularly spines and scales (Furcaster aequoreus Boczarowski, 2001). Furcaster separatus Haude, 1995 from the Early Devonian of the Argentinian Precordillera, differs by having approximating proximal and distal wing−like lateral crest on the arm vertebra.
