Diagnoza Porównanie The shell is flatter than in Obornella monilifera. The axial ribs on the dorsal side remain narrow until the end of ontogeny. Only a few spiral ribs develop between the adapical suture and the selenizone, later approx. 8. The elevation of the selenizone is weak on early turns and disappears on later coils. The strongly rounded bulge at the transition to the base is also covered with spiral ribs. Some spiral ribs are developed on the base near the bulge, followed by an area with sigmoidally curved growth lines. Obornella palemon (d’Orbigny, 1855) synonymous with Obornella granulata (Sowerby, 1818), differs in its sculpture. Other similar species, i.e. Leptomaria striata (Leckenby, 1859), Obornella discus Eudes-Deslongchamps, 1849, and Pleurotomaria buvignieri d’orbiGny, 1860, have a more distinct spiral sculpture, especially on the base.
