Opis

Triramous S0 elements and narrow basal cavity of P1 elements with a tendency to inversion, frequently connected with development of a platform; apparatus generalized.
The Polygnathidae originated at the beginning of the Devonian from Ozarkodina, a member of the Spathognathodontidae, by developing a medial process in S0 elements and elongation of processes in other S elements. Pandorinellina probably represents this first lineage continued without significant changes to the Famennian.
