Diagnoza Icrion in the dorsal part of P1 elements composed of three rows of denticles; the medial higher than the lateral ones that tend to develop transverse ridges. Porównanie Left and right elements show different morphology of the icrion, classifying the latter under the name of Bispathodus ultimus. In Kowala P. ziegleri was replaced by P. ultimus between deposition of strata represented by samples Ko-114 and Ko-113, thus after emergence of D. trigonica, whereas at Dzikowiec P. ultimus appears before D. trigonica. Probably this change was controlled ecologically and not directly related to evolution, as suggested by the re-appearance of P. ziegleri before the end of the Famennian at Kowala.
