Growth lines are strongly adapically curved backwards. Six strong folds can be seen in the cross section of the coils: two in the columellar and one in the parietal area of ​​the inner lip and three in the area of ​​the outer lip. Nerinea bacillus d’Orbigny, 1851, in which Laube (1867) classified this species, has clearly concave sides and there is no spiral sculpture. Nerinea trachea Eudes-Deslongchamps, 1843 is very variable with concave to straight sides, with or without a spiral sculpture.
