Diagnoza

Teleoconch conical. First juvenile whorl of teleoconch ornamented with weak axial ribs. Later in ontogeny whorls angulated at two keels, which are close to suture on both whorl sides. Keels ornamented with short spines. Each spine from upper keel connected with another one from lower keel by oblique rib−like folds. Base sculptured with strong ribs. Umbilicus absent.

Porównanie

Calliotropis biarmata (Münster, 1844), C. bitorquata (Hébert et Eudes−Deslongchamps, 1860), and most probably even C. sauvagei (Cossmann, 1895), represent one highly variable species.

Występowanie geograficzne

Europe; in Poland Częstochowa region and Kłęby borehole 1/37.

Zasięg czasowy

Mid and Late Jurassic.

Material from Europe, including ca. 30 mostly juvenile specimens from Germany and northern Poland (boreholes: Heringsdorf 4/63, Karlshagen 1/62, Kłęby 1/37, Löcknitz 1/63, Ringenwalde 1/65, Rubkow 2/64, Usedom 2/61 and Wusterhusen 1/64, collections University of Greifswald, Schneider); additionally 30 shells (ZPAL) from Kawodrza−Sowa (Late Bajocian), 20 shells from Blanowice (Bathonian), 6 shells from Ogrodzieniec (Bathonian), 1 juvenile shell from Gnaszyn (Bathonian), 2 juveniles from Kłobuck borehole 21 (?Bathonian).
