| Diagnoza Maximal width at hinge line; shell outline subrectangular. Five radial ridges on the deltidium; umbonal part of the ventral valve somewhat elevated in respect to the rest of the valve. Ventral valve with a distinct median U-shaped sinus, occupying one fifth of the shell width. Ventral spines symmetrically, obliquely inserted on the margin of the interarea. Ornamentation of low rounded costae, originating less than 1 mm from the umbo, 5--7 per mm, separated by furrows of approximately the same width (sometimes narrower or broader). In dorsal interior cardinal process strong, with deep median incision and shallower lateral ones, with five radial crests; muscle areas deep. Porównanie 'Dagnachonetes cf. supragibbosus' (Schemm-Gregory & Jansen, 2005)  from the Late Givetian of western Sahara are much more flattened. Dagnachonetes cf. supragibbosus sensu Racheboeuf, 1981, from the Portilla Fm. of Asturias has length to thickness ratio 2.9-3.9 (1.7-2.3 in the Polish material).
