Diagnoza

Pachyconic shell with narrow umbilicus, umbilical margin rounded; ornamentation with very delicate spiral lines on flanks and venter as well as very fine and crenulated growth lines with biconvex and rursiradiate course; suture line with Y-shaped, moderate ventral lobe, the median saddle attains less than the half height of ventrolateral saddle.

Porównanie

Ventral lobe is V-shaped as in the most species of Arnsbergites such as A. sphaericostriatus (Bisat, 1924), A. warslowensis (Bisat, 1957), A. robustus (Moore & Hodson, 1958), and A. gracilis Korn, 1988; very wide juvenile conchs of the Rhenish specimens, together with a less robust ornamentation, makes them different from ancestral G. falcatus; lineage seems to continue into G. (Hibernicoceras) tumidum (Moore & Hudson, 1958) with even lower whorls but shorter evolute stage.

Występowanie geograficzne

Germany (Rhenish Slate Mts.), Portugal (Baixo Alentejo) and Poland (Todowa Grząba in Gałęzice, Holy Cross Mts.).

Zasięg czasowy

Carboniferous; Late Visean - Early Serpukhovian (falcatus – rotundum Zones); in Poland only bed 1 of the trench XXI.
