Diagnoza

The shell is broadly conical, its coil flanks are strongly beveled and slightly convex. The narrow slit is close to the abapical suture. A row of knots that are somewhat elongated in the axial direction developed under the adapical suture. The nodes strengthened during ontogenesis, being more distant from each other and less sharp. On the early coils, spiral ribs and growth lines are of roughly equal prominence. 7–8 spiral ribs occur between the adapical suture and the slit. The most adapical ones cross the cusps and are a little stronger than the others. Another 5 spiral ribs occur between the slit and the abapical seam. The slightly convex base has a distinct umbilicus. The base is covered with numerous spiral ribs, which become somewhat stronger towards the center. The umbilicus is surrounded by a faint row of cusps, which extend into the interior of the umbilicus. The aperture is wider than high.

Porównanie

Pleurotomaria agathis Eudes-Deslongchamps, 1849 differs in the more numerous and weaker adapical cusps and the lack of the lattice of roughly equally strong spiral ribs and growth lines on the early turns.
