Diagnoza Shell thick disc-shaped, umbilicus narrow; ornamentation with 48-56 spiral ridges and very fine, almost straight growth lines; there are 2 to 5 constrictions, mostly arranged regularly; flanks of the external lobe almost parallel; the median saddle reaches 25% of the height of the asymmetric ventrolateral saddle. Porównanie American Lusitanites newsomi (Smith, 1903) is more densely ribbed; only Lyrogoniatites tener and L. liethensis have more than 50 spiral stripes, but L. tener is narrower and L. liethensis wider; the shape of L. eisenbergensis is intermediate. L. newsomi (Smith, 1903) described by Żakowa, 1971 is L. eisenbergensis.
