Porównanie

In the type species of Merocanites, M. compressus (J. Sowerby, 1813), the generically diagnostic ventral lobe of the suture line appears to be basically the same as in M. applanatus, so there is no need for a separate generic name, Erdbachites Weyer, 1972. The suture line has been traced in thre Ostrówka specimens  representing different ontogenetic stages. No significant differences from other populations of the species have been discemed.
