Diagnoza

Thinly pachyconic juvenile shell, then thickly discoidal  umbilicus funnel-shaped and almost closed in all stages; suture line with secondarily subdivided external lobe, of which the dorsal side shows tertiary denticulation, and primarily subdivided adventive lobe.

Porównanie

M. hodsoni belongs to the less advanced species of the genus; M. anguinosum  has a much more advanced suture line, although it is stratigraphically older.

Występowanie geograficzne

 Ireland (Leitrim Co.), Morocco (Tafilalt) and Poland (Lublin Coal Basin).
