Diagnoza

(provisory): Shell rather small to medium-sized, subrectangular through semielliptical to subtriangular, geniculated; tongue absent; ornamentation parvicostellate, sometimes tending to multicostellate.

Porównanie

Late Eifelian specimens from outcrop SK-3 have high trails, whereas the (Mid?) Eifelian type material and the Early Givetian specimens from outcrop SW-2 have low trails. Shells from Mauritania are intermediate in this respect. Strophonella anaglypha Kayser mut. quadrata sensu Lotze, 1928, from the Mid Devonian of Elspe Syncline, Rhenish Slate Mts., differs in having the anterior margin with a median indentation.

25 specimens: 12 articulated shells (ZPAL Bp VII/1146, 1150, 1156, 1162; ZPAL Bp 48/23/1; L PZ-D.537, olim 781a; L PZ-D.544, olim 12898), 5 ventral (ZPAL Bp VII/1154, 1165-67, 1188) and one dorsal valve (ZPAL Bp VII/1159) from outcrops 72, SK- 3 (73) and 125 at Skały and from the Miłoszów Limestone; 7 variably preserved specimens from outcrop SW-2 (ZPAL Bp 48/23/2).
