The oz elements with an external process merging at almost right angle the Porównanie The apparatus of Pygodus was interpreted by BERGSTROM ( 1971) and its evolution discussed by BERGSTROM (1983). Along with two well known element types the apparatus of Pygodus consists also of several minute ramiform elements that form a symmetry transition series (MCCRACKEN 1991 ). Of special interest is the morphology of the symmetrical element, which has its medial process weakly denticulated but split into two parallel ridges.
