Diagnoza Shell very small to small (up to 6.3 mm in width), very strongly ventribiconvex to almost planoconvex, slightly transverse, with mucronate postero-lateral extensions; maximal width at hinge line, sometimes at midlength (in this case shell with a postero-lateral indentation anterior to short mucrons), maximal thickness at hinge line; cardinal margin nearly straight; dorsal valve semielliptic, weakly convex to nearly flat, with rather broad and shallow sinus with flat bottom; dorsal interarea low, anacline, notothyrium open; ventral valve pyramidal and ventral interarea nearly flat to moderately concave, very high, triangular, apsacline to nearly catacline, transversely striated; ornamentation consisting of radial costellae, originating in the umbonal region, separated by wider or narrower furrows, 8-10 on each lateral flank. Porównanie Genus Skenidium have an procline ventral interarea, cardinal process not continuous with dorsal median septum and a dorsal interarea vestigial.
