Diagnoza

A small galliform, smaller than the grey partridge Perdix perdix; cranial part of the sternum shows morphology found in crown group Galliformes and exhibits well-developed internal and external spines; approximate length of folded wing (with feathers) ca. 130 mm; longest primaries ca. 110 mm long, secondaries ca. 80 mm and the longest tertial ca. 80–90 mm.

Porównanie

Differs from all genera of the Galliformes in several features, from members of the Early Middle Eocene family Gallinuloididae, the late Eocene - early Oligocene family Paraortygidae the late Eocene Procrax, the early Oligocene Archaealectrornis, the late Eocene - early Miocene family Quercymegapodiidae  in osteological details of coracoid, humerus and carpometacarpus.
