Diagnoza The shell is conical with straight flanks bound abapically by a wide, protruding bead. Two distinctly crenulated spiral ribs run at wide intervals, followed by a third one, weaker, crenulated spiral rib at a shorter distance. Directly under the adapical suture, two tightly spaced, weak and uncontaminated spiral ribs run. The base is barely convex, imperforate and completely covered with numerous spiral ribs, separated by narrow furrows. The growth lines are strongly prosoclinic and almost straight from the adapical suture to the center of the base. A crescent-shaped, recessed callus developed in the columellar area, the inner boundary of which is thickened. Porównanie Proconulus scalaris Gerasimov, 1992 from the Moscow Basin is possibly identical with the present species. The sculpture and the formation of the abapical bulge are very similar in both. However, the shell of P. scalaris is slimmer and the coils are noticeably higher in relation to their width. Trochus piettei Hébert & Eudes-Deslongchamps, 1860 is slimmer, has more numerous spiral ribs, the base is more convex and there is no clear abapical bulge.
