Type species: Trochus biarmatus Münster in Goldfuss, 1844; Mid Jurassic; South Germany. Diagnosis: Conical shell with a nearly planar base. Distinct axial ribs on early teleoconch whorls, later supplemented with two spiral ribs with nodes at the crossing points. The abapical spiral rib and the border rib to the base form a narrow ribbon that demarcates the greatest width of the shell. The anomphalous base has 3-4 strongly nodose spiral ribs. The growth lines weak. The aperture is subcircular. The columella has a thickening on its inner border. A broad callus covers the center of the base with a crescent-shaped depression.
