Diagnoza compressed shell and has a small umbilicus, about 17 percent, of a diameter of 12 mm and 8 percent, of a diameter of 25 mm (known only from shale impressions the proportions of thickness to diameter are unknown); transverse striae are slightly roughened and average 5 to the mm, on the lingua in adolescence; lingua is small in projection and the hyponomic sinus is relatively shallow; umbilical plications, from which the transverse striae bifurcate, are thin and the branching is irregular; in adolescence they form a zone with wider areas of smooth test between them than between the striae and this persists up to about 12 mm. diameter; on some specimens weak spirals occur, especially on the lingua Porównanie very close to R. eoreticulatum which has a similar umbilicus and agrees in the general character of the ornament, but which has the transverse striae rather more clearly cut, has a better developed lingua, and possesses a greater tendency to subordinate spirals in early adolescence.
